Michigan Metal Coatings is excited to announce its expansion into Sidney, Ohio. With a new plant set to take root at 930-990 Vandemark Road, we’re gearing up to commence operations Q3 of 2025, marking a significant milestone for our company.
In collaboration with Gov. Mike DeWine’s office and the Ohio Department of Development, we’re grateful for the Ohio Tax Credit Authority’s (TCA) approval of our economic development proposal. This milestone brings forth the creation of 60 full-time positions and an anticipated $3.57 million increase in annual payroll, a testament to our commitment to growth and innovation.
Our focus lies in providing top-tier, chromium-free, corrosion-resistant coating systems for Tier 1 automotive customers. The approval of a 1.357%, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit by the TCA for this project underscores our dedication to fostering employment opportunities and contributing to the local economy.
The expansion involves the addition of three Zinc-Flake coating lines (two Bulk-Processing & 1-DDS Rack System), aligning with our mission to enhance services for existing customers while facilitating the expansion of the MMC/MC Systems organization. This move also positions us to explore new customer acquisition opportunities, leveraging technology and proximity for sustainable growth.
We extend our gratitude to Sidney’s city and county teams for their support and enthusiasm in welcoming us. Their efforts, coupled with the collaboration of the state, Dayton Development Coalition, and Sidney-Shelby Economic Partnership, have been instrumental in bringing this expansion to fruition.
As an entity under the umbrella of MC Systems from Japan, MMC currently operates two facilities spanning 150,000 square feet in Port Huron, Michigan, employing 150 individuals.
